About Charity: The Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation has been working locally and nationally for more than 23 years to promote our mission through educational and programmatic events about life-saving techniques on prevention and early detection of skin cancer, especially melanoma. The Students Against Melanoma Clubs in middle and high school and the SunSmart America curriculum have educated thousands of students, families and communities on sun safety behaviors and techniques for prevention and early detection of skin cancer. RDK and Phillies Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt work daily to build sun smart cities around the country with the distribution of sunscreen dispensers in partnerships with cities, parks, schools and sports venues.
