The purpose of the 1000+ Club is to provide money, collected through fundraising events and dues, to selected non-profit cancer organizations in support of cancer research, cancer education, and cancer patient services in Broward County. While there are numerous events throughout the year, the signature event is the Woman of the Year Luncheon. Selected non-profits will celebrate their individual Woman of the Year. The mission of 2-1-1 Broward is to provide 24-hour comprehensive helpline and support services to individuals and families in our community seeking crisis intervention assistance and/or information and connections to health and human services in Broward County. Every call to 2-1-1 is answered by a trained, degreed counselor who listens to the caller’s concerns, identifies their needs and connects them with agencies and programs that can help them. 2-1-1 Broward relies on the generous support of government agencies, corporations, foundations, and individuals to provide this vital community service.

Calls to 211 HelpLine are free, confidential and available 24/7. “Our name is our number!” 211 is the easy to remember 3-digit phone number that provides service for everyday needs and in times of crisis. 211 HelpLine is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing crisis intervention, information, assessment and referral to community services in Indian River, Okeechobee, Martin, Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties.

A continuing accomplishment is the operation of SafePlace 4KIDS, the emergency assessment center for children removed from their homes in Broward or Palm Beach County as they begin their foster care journey.

The Museum’s mission is to promote the arts in the community and perpetuate the artistic and humanitarian legacy of A.E. Backus, and houses the nation’s largest exhibit of original Backus paintings. Throughout the season the Museum features changing national exhibits and two juried competitions.
