Up-cycle your clutter into art during Kinetic-Connections

by Tina Ashchian Dec 2014

Kinetic-Connections invites to everyone in Palm Beach to take a moment to de-clutter their lives for the New Year.  During the whole month of December, anyone can bag up and bring their miscellaneous small objects to one of the county-wide Kinetic-Connections drop-off locations.

Kinetic-Connections wants all the junk in your drawers, office and garage to become part of an extraordinary community “art intervention” that will temporarily transform an historic kapok tree into a kinetic sculpture during the International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium in February.

Each object should be no larger than your hand and have a hole so that artist Elayna Toby can sting items into twirling strands to hang from the branches of the sixty-five foot kapok tree. Sample items include keys, bells, curtain rings, bits of hardware, jewelry, belt buckles, etc.

The 2015 International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium will take place Feb. 6 to 8 in Boynton Beach.
