Friends of Birch State Park, Inc.
Friends of Birch State Park, Inc. is dedicated to organizing support for the preservation, conservation and enhancement of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. Friends’ goal is to preserve, for future generations, the Park’s 180-acres of tropical hammock situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Current amenities include a youth camp; picnic pavilions; fishing; two children’s playgrounds; Segway, Jet Ski, bike, rollerblade, canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals; and trails for hiking, biking and rollerblading. Friends has recently added a Water Taxi stop at the Park and has plans for a 230-foot floating dock for boaters, extended educational facilities and opportunities, and other exciting enhancements. During the last year, Friends has greatly expanded its Board of Directors under the guidance of Board Chair Jim Ellis, President of EDI, Inc.
