Halloween is one of our favorite times of year. (Really, what’s better than endless free candy?) With so many events and activities in Palm Beach County, there's no better place to celebrate than right here at home.

Here are 10 events worth checking out: 

The Creepy Critter Trail: This month, the Jupiter Indiantown Trail will be called the Creepy Critter Trail. Explore the wildlife and learn about the native critters along your hike.

 

Spookyville: Bring your little ones to a safe and fun Halloween event. Spookyville, for children 12 and under, will feature trick-or-treating, scarecrow-making, rides and arts & crafts.

Oct. 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 at Yesteryear Village at South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach

 

Scarecrow Festival: Join the Historical Society of Palm Beach for the annual Scarecrow Festival. Browse through the award-winning scarecrows entered into the competition, partake in a corn-shucking competition and decorate pumpkins.

Oct. 17, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum in West Palm Beach 

 

Pumpkin Bash: Dress up in your Halloween best and make your way over to Harbourside Place for the Pumpkin Bash. Families get to have one free pumpkin from the Harbourside pumpkin patch, trick-or-treat through all the stores and listen to live music.

Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harbourside Place in Jupiter 

 

Boo at the Zoo: Visit the zoo and celebrate Halloween at the same time this year at Boo at the Zoo. There will be wildlife shows, a hay stack hunt and a pumpkin patch.

Oct. 23, 24 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society in West Palm Beach 

 

Monster Bash: Bring the whole family along to the Monster Bash, where costumes are highly encouraged. Listen to live music, enjoy free finger foods and raffles all night long.

Oct 25, 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach 

 

Clematis By Fright: The fun event gets a Halloween twist with a costume contest, trick-or-treating and live music.

Oct. 29, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., West Palm Beach Waterfront

 

Fall Festival: Bring in the season at the Fall Festival. Enjoy live music, trick-or-treating and activities for the whole family.

Oct. 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Burns Road Recreation Center

 

Kooky Halloween: Enjoy bounce houses, games and more at this family-friendly Halloween party.

Oct. 30, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Jupiter Community Center

 

Fright Nights: Get spooked in one our local haunted houses with four “scare zones.” You might want to leave the little ones at home for this one.

Thursday through Saturday nights until Oct. 31 at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach
