Billy Joel's Manalapan Mansion Is Now On The Market For $27 Million, And It Looks Like A Mediterranean Dream
The Piano Man's Palm Beach County properties are now on the market for a combined $27 million.
The listed seller is South Ocean Living LLC, according to listing agent Jack Elkins, with Fite Shavell & Associates, but Billy Joel has been widely reported as the owner.
The lake-to-ocean properties consist of a 13,216-square-foot Mediterranean-style estate, plus an empty, almost 2-acre lot.
When Elkins spoke to The Palm Beacher in December for our original story on the listing, he said his favorite thing about the property is, hands down, the view.
"The beach is magnificent, and you own it," he said. "When you're on the second floor, you can see the ocean."
The fully furnished home has seven bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms, along with a guesthouse that has an additional two rooms. During a recently completed renovation, the estate's design went from a "heavy Mediterranean to more of a light beach Mediterranean," according to Elkins, with a subtle boat theme going on.
Now there's Jerusalem marble, driftwood details, and a two-story living room with 4-foot porthole windows that allow natural light into the room throughout the day, he said.
Between the two parcels of land, the new owner can have two beach cabanas and two docks (since property owners in Manalapan are allowed to have one per property), Elkins said.
There's already a concept in place for the lot next-door (see the design scheme below) that calls for a breezeway connecting to an outdoor pavilion and a walking path around the whole property.
