Make room, CityPlace—a new restaurant is coming to town.

Starting Saturday, Aug. 6, West Palm Beach locals can dine at the newest restaurant on the block: City Tap House.

This popular Northeastern gastropub serves elevated bar food and keeps the craft beer flowing to complement its vast selection of regional American cuisine.

With locations in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., the West Palm Beach addition will cater to a whole new market of beer enthusiasts.

City Tap House managing partner Gary Cardi said the area's growing craft beer interest made West Palm Beach, in particular, a top pick.

"We have felt for a very long time with the growing communities in South Florida that City Tap would be a perfect fit," he said.

Tackling the extensive, pub-inspired menu is executive chef Brian Stevenson, a five-year South Florida local and restaurant expert. He brings with him experience at Landry's, Brio Tuscan Grille and The Cheesecake Factory.

The menu features signature items such as the City Tap burger ($15), ten-spice wings ($13), corn and crab hush puppies ($13), and honey goat cheese flatbread ($13).

And while the food, cocktail and wine selection is definitely something to look forward to, the highlight should be City Tap House's vast craft beer selection from local, regional and specialty breweries. More than 15 Florida brands are on the beer list so far, including Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks in West Palm Beach, and Cigar City Brewing in Tampa.

Guests can enjoy their meals with a cold one, inside a space that's been decorated with reclaimed barn wood and re-purposed steel.

The rustic, yet laid-back restaurant will offer indoor and outdoor bars, a private dining area for up to 50 guests, a 15-foot multi-screen television, and an open kitchen.

During its first several weeks of service, City Tap House is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

In the fall, the restaurant plans to launch lunch hours and weekend brunch with unlimited champagne and a bloody mary bar.
