Here’s What To Expect At This Year’s Wellington Bacon & Bourbon Festival
Bacon and bourbon: two quintessential pieces of American cuisine. Celebrate the pair at the third annual Wellington Bacon & Bourbon Fest (formerly held in Delray Beach), from March 23 to 25, at the Village of Wellington Community Center & Amphitheater.
Festival guests will enjoy three days of eclectic menus of bacon-infused culinary delights and a collection of over 400 bourbons and whiskeys. Over 100 exhibitors will be on site, as well as a children’s amusement area.
The menu will include items like the Forever Roasted Bourbon BBQ Pork & Bacon Sandwich, a bacon bar featuring chocolate covered and caramel nut-dipped bacon and more. The food is developed by local chefs exploring new American cuisine and the farm-to-table movement, as well as old-fashioned comfort foods.
General admission to the event is free, and ticketed VIP experiences include food and bourbon pairing seminars. Each seminar is individually ticketed with limited seating. They include an interactive cocktail creation seminar with David Ortiz, a Sazerac portfolio pairing with Kyle Wilson of Sazerac, a low to high rye pairing seminar and more.
Other highlights of the event will include corn hole tournaments on March 24 and 25, with the winning teams receiving a six-person, two-hour tasting at an Islamorada Beer Company brewery in Islamorada or Fort Pierce. The second place teams will each win a case of Islamorada Beer.
The festival will also include a Pappy Van Winkle tasting experience on March 24, live music throughout the weekend and a bottomless bloody mary brunch on March 25.
For guests who aren’t bourbon fans, there will be fine wines and beer available at the festival. For more information, or to register for the event, visit baconbourbonfest.com.
