Jason Emmett, Kelsey Willaman Get Married At The Breakers Palm Beach, And The Photos Are Gorgeous
There’s nothing more romantic than a wedding at The Breakers.
Just ask newlyweds Jason and Kelsey Emmett.
The president of Duffy’s Sports Grill and his new bride, who's maiden name is Willaman, tied the knot at the Palm Beach resort in January, and they’ve decided to share photos of their special day with The Palm Beacher.
Postponed after the late Paul Emmett—Jason’s father and former owner of Duffy’s—fell ill, the ceremony was filled with sentimental moments and intricate details that paid homage to the couple’s families.
Kelsey’s wedding band featured diamonds made from earrings that Paul had given his wife (Jason’s stepmother), Geri, and the bible used in the ceremony is a family heirloom that had been given to Jason’s late grandmother, Martha Emmett, in 1932.
The couple even toasted to a bright future with Baccarat crystal flutes that Paul and Geri used on their wedding day.
The bride wore a custom-designed gown created by Trish McEvoy Beauty in New York City that featured hand-sewn lace from Paris. Their guest list included politicians, athletes, journalists, socialites and prominent Palm Beach-area families.
While the day included plenty of special memories, Jason said one of his favorites was when the family and wedding party gathered in a small room at the end of the ceremony just "to decompress."
"It was a really great and memorable moment, to be surrounded by all our closest friends and family just after officially getting married," he said.
For the Emmetts, The Breakers was a natural fit. Not only was it the spot where the couple got engaged, it was where Jason stayed when he first visited Palm Beach with his family in 1998.
"It has also become a favorite date night destination for Kelsey and me, usually for a drink and sushi roll at HMF," Jason added. "Palm Beach has been my family’s home for almost 20 years, and so it made sense to us to get married there. We really never considered anywhere outside Palm Beach."
So, what's next for the couple?
"Settling in to and enjoying our new house, which we are still finishing the furnishing of as we speak," Jason said.
