New Polo Bar & Grill Opens At Polo West Golf And Equestrian Club
Blending farm-fresh cuisine with beautiful, natural surroundings, Polo Bar & Grill is opening on the grounds of Polo West Golf and Equestrian Club.
The new restaurant is set to launch on Nov. 9 on the Wellington public golf course.
Polo Bar & Grill’s menu will feature plates with a California, west coast twist and will be made with locally sourced ingredients and vendors chosen by quality and proximity to the restaurant. Most vegetables and organic products will be brought over from Swank Farms, which is less than 10 miles away from the restaurant. Everything will be a la carte and prepared daily, and the menu is driven by what’s local, available and at peak bloom.
Menu items include wild caught sea bass, curry chicken wontons, wild mushroom blue cheese flatbread and dry-aged rib-eye steak. The restaurant will also host Sunday Patio Brunch every Sunday featuring a brunch spread, unlimited mimosas and live performances from local musicians.
Gary Fellers and Jeanette Sassoon, husband-and-wife restaurant owners and veteran equestrians, want to use the city’s equestrian roots to entertain and educate by hosting weekly events for the community.
Thursdays are Big Dog’s Night Out benefiting Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Fridays will be Friday Night Lights featuring equestrian events and Saturdays will be Western in Wellington Night where there’ll be Western-style riding events and country western music. The couple plans for Polo Bar & Grill to be a welcoming space for the community by offering an exciting menu, along with giving back to the community through partnerships with local charities.
Executive chef Victor Irizarry previously worked at Seasons 52, Hard Rock Café and Walt Disney World. His experience working on the west coast helps him bring a melting pot of flavors that represent the diversity and international community of Wellington.
The modern fusion décor can be seen in all three dining areas: the grill room, the bar and the patio. The Grill Room overlooks the 12-acre polo field and driving range through floor-to-ceiling glass windows; the bar consists of plenty of high-top tables and a double horseshoe-shaped bar; and the patio offers sweeping views of the polo field and driving range. The restaurant also has two banquet rooms available for private events.
Polo Bar & Grill will open daily at 11 a.m. for lunch, dinner and brunch.
