The Palm Beach Wine Auction Is Offering Pre-Bidding Online For This Year’s Event
For the first time in its 11-year history, the Palm Beach Wine Auction will share its catalog online before the event, allowing wine aficionados around the world to pre-bid on the auction’s exclusive lots.
The auction’s catalog is now available at one.bidpal.net/pbwa/welcome and the event itself will be held on Feb. 1 at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
More than 50 vintage wines will be showcased at the auction, and online bids and absentee bids will be accepted until Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. There will also be a live auction at the event, which will start with the highest pre-bid amount placed online for each item.
Signature lots in the auction’s 2018 catalog include a full barrel of Beckstoffer Vineyards’ 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Las Piedras vineyard, valued at more than $60,000. Winemakers from Carter Cellars will turn the lot into 300 bottles of bespoke, private label Cabernet for the lucky bidder.
Luxury and travel experiences will also be auctioned off, including a three-night stay in a presidential suite at the La Réserve Paris Hotel & Spa, valued at nearly $32,000. The trip includes daily breakfast and a sommelier-led wine dinner at Le Gabriel, the hotel’s two Michelin-starred restaurant.
