DONNA LEWIS Feb 2015 Also on Digital Edition

“Love,” this one simple four-letter word could possibly be the most powerful word in the English language. Our obsession with it is undeniable – “All You Need is Love,” “Love Will Keep Us Together,” “Stop in the Name of Love,” “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe.” All love song joking aside, love is our destiny, and our journey. It builds lives, families, generations, homes and communities. Love makes the world go around! We celebrate love in this Romance Issue with inspiration from two local couples who tied the knot amid South Florida’s idyllic backdrops. High school sweethearts Brittany and Matthew merged their yin and yang during a union at The Club at Admirals Cove, and Erika and Stephen were wedded at a private home on the water in Jupiter, complete with vintage china, rustic wedding bells and a drink named after their dog.

Love is the only language spoken by Kelly Leary, owner of Revolution Dating, who is changing the way South Florida couples find love in the 21st century. She devotes her life and 23-year career to helping people find their soul mate and does it with passion and conviction, knowing “The Power of Love.” Beauty blogger, Katie McBroom, is doing what she loves – helping others feel beautiful and confident with the power of makeup, and proving that a little pick-me-up is only a brush stroke away.

To keep you bejeweled and beautiful this Valentine’s Day and beyond, we’ve consulted award-winning artist and jewelry designer Paula Crevoshay to provide you with a primer to enhance your natural beauty through jewelry. Like fashion, jewelry should be worn to accentuate our assets, but many of us don’t play by the rules. We hastily choose pieces, scarcely thinking about whether it’s right for our skin tone, hair and eye color, and body type. In “The Art of Adornment,” Crevoshay shows us how to accentuate or minimize certain features with the proper use of color, light and proportion. While at an exclusive luncheon at Provident Jewelry, Crevoshay spoke on the topic and I was literally amazed at how attention to color and size affected whether the piece was flattering or fell flat. My newfound enlightenment will forever change the way I look at jewelry and how and why I wear it.
