Women, Business & Finance: Knowing How To Succeed

Since her Wall Street entrée reading ticker tapes for stock traders at an old-line brokerage to being named one of Barron’s Top 100 Women Financial Advisors, Louise Armour is dedicated to helping women advance.

Many women would have found cracking into a male-dominated industry daunting. But not Louise. Hired by Bear Stearns in 1985, she found the hard-charging culture a good fit. “The firm was open-minded as long as you worked hard,” says Louise. “I was determined to work harder than anyone there.”

That hard work paid off. Among her accolades, Louise appears in Forbes’ Top 200 Women Wealth Advisors 2017, Financial Times’ 400 Top Financial Advisers for 2017 and Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial Advisors for the past three years.

“Clients today look to us for long-term advice on a broad array of wealth management needs,” says Louise. “We consider each financial decision in terms of your entire balance sheet and long-term implications. It’s all about tailoring strategies that help care for the totality of your assets.”

Experience is key in navigating estate planning and other objectives, notes Louise. “As the markets become more complex and sophisticated, my clients know they can turn to us for guidance and support.”

Louise has spent the past 35 years opening doors for fellow wealth managers and providing a steady hand in the face of market volatility. She has served as a team sponsor for Polo Under the Palms and helps raise funds for the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
